Mercedes Benz unveiled its latest concept car, the F800 Style, at the Geneva Motor Show. Its multi drive platform makes the F800 suitable for electric drive or as a plug-in hybrid. The plug in hybrid version features a 272-horsepower V6 gasoline engine and a lithium-ion battery that the car can run on for 30 kilometers. The fuel cell version uses an electric motor that only emits water vapor. Dr. Thomas Weber, who presides over group research at Mercedez-Benz stated:
“We are dedicated to reconciling our responsibility for the environment with practical customer benefit in an exciting car. The new F 800 Style research vehicle combines this commitment to providing the leading innovative drive concepts with our traditional Mercedes strengths in the areas of design, safety, comfort and outstanding performance.”
